Illtud's Ghosts
Long ago within the ancient walls of St Illtud’s Church, a handful of gentle spirits found themselves lingering between worlds.
They were not lost to evil, not bound by malice, but simply lost, and friendly – searching for a new home and someone to care for them.
They drift softly through the churchyard, peeking from behind gravestones, hovering near the tower windows, and gathering beneath the moonlight – whispering tiny ghostly giggles.
Guiding them is Ambrose the gentle Reaper – not a harbinger of doom, but a steadfast guardian. With his weathered scythe and warm, watchful presence, he keeps the lost spirits safe, ensuring they never wander too far, and protecting them from the chill winds that sweep through the ancient stones at night.
It is said that those who visit the church with an open heart may feel a soft tug at their sleeve, or hear a quiet, hopeful “Boo!” – a friendly request from a spirit searching for a new place to belong.
Take one home, and Ambrose will smile beneath his hood, knowing another little ghost has finally found where it truly belongs.
